“Love and trust, in the space between what's said and what's heard in our life, can make all the difference in the world. Discovering the truth about ourselves is a lifetime's work, but it's worth the effort.”

— Fred Rogers.

FAQs

What are your fees?

My hourly therapy rate is $250 an hour. I do not offer bulk billing or WorkCover services.

Under the Better Access scheme, those experiencing mental health difficulties are currently eligible for up to 10 Medicare rebates of $141.85 per calendar year under a Mental Health Care Plan. The out of pocket expense for standard session fee after a rebate is $108.15.

As supervision is not a psychological service it is not exempt from GST. Currently I charge $230 for supervision plus GST (i.e., $253). I charge tape rating services at two hours of my supervision rate plus GST ($506).

Fees are subject to change and will typically be adjusted in line with the Medicare Benefits Schedule at the end of each financial year.

Please note: The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended 46 to 60-minute consultation fee is $300.00.

How do I access a Medicare rebate?

Read more about utilising the Better Access for Mental Health scheme. Please note you need a referral letter and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP to be eligible.

If you want to explore this possibility, please make an appointment with your doctor prior to our first appointment. They will let you know how many sessions the referral is for and when you need to return to them for them to review your progress and potentially access more rebated sessions.

The referring practitioner should provide you with:
(a) a referral letter addressed to Natalia Ranson; and
(b) a copy of the Mental Health Care Plan.

Please provide me a copy of the GP referral letter and Mental Health Care Plan via email prior to your initial consultation.

Do I need a referral to see you?

No, you are able to book appointments without a referral. Appointments booked without a referral will be ineligible for Medicare rebates.

Am I eligible for rebates under my private health cover?

Individual therapy sessions are covered under some private health plans, typically without requiring a referral from a doctor. To access this you will need to check your coverage with your insurer. Please keep in mind that you can't claim both private and Medicare rebates for the same appointment

Do you have a late cancellation policy?

Non-attendance at an appointment, rescheduling or cancellation with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at the full consultation fee. I would be grateful for at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment so that I can offer it to other clients. Cancellation fees are not eligible for Medicare rebates.

Do you maintain a waitlist?

While I am currently maintaining a EOI waitlist ahead of returning from leave, I also believe that immediate help at the moment of need has a lot of therapeutic power. If contacted early by those in active distress I will provide details of potentially suitable alternatives that may have earlier availability. If there is a suitable fit with more immediate availability I will always encourage you to take this opportunity rather than placing you on a waitlist for my services. Providing service for returning clients will be prioritised as much as possible.

Due to being a sole trader with part time work hours, my services are not currently suitable for new clients who are in acute crisis or needing more intensive support. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis please contact the Mental Health Access Line on 1800 011 511. I am also currently not able to offer comprehensive assessments such as those required for medico-legal matters or neurodevelopmental assessments. I am not sufficiently trained nor hold the necessary experience to work with couples or restrictive eating disorders.
